Grief Coach or Grief Counselor?

Am I What You're Looking For?

Let me save you some time.

I'm a grief coach. I'm not a licensed therapist or counselor.

A counselor is a licensed clinician. They can diagnose, treat mental health conditions, and bill your insurance. Their work often goes backward — into trauma, into history.

I do something different. I walk with you through what comes next. Writing practice, structure, ritual, and company while you figure out how to carry this. I won't ever ask you to move on.

Both are real help. They're just not the same help.

Come Work With Me If:

  • Your grief is heavy, but you're still standing

  • You want tools and practice, not treatment

  • You want a structure to hold you through this

  • You'd rather not grieve alone

See a Licensed Therapist If:

  • You're having thoughts of harming yourself

  • You can't work, sleep, eat, or care for the people who need you

  • The loss was sudden, violent, or traumatic

  • You're leaning on alcohol or substances to get through

  • You were already managing a mental health condition before this

That's not you grieving wrong. It's you deserving care I'm not licensed to give — and if you come to me and need it, I'll tell you and help you find it.

And You Can Do Both
Many people I work with see a therapist and work with me at the same time. Therapy tends the wound. Our work builds the practice that holds the days in between.

Still not sure?
Neither are most people. Let's talk for a few minutes and figure out what you actually need — even if that's someone other than me.
