The Year I Finally Say It Out Loud

When I woke up on New Year’s Day 2026, the first words* out of my mouth were, “This is the year my book comes out.”
(*I did say good morning to Hudson first. Priorities.)
Still, saying it out loud mattered. It felt different than thinking it. Different than quietly working toward it, which is what I’ve been doing for a long time now. This wasn’t a resolution. It was a declaration.
2026 is the year this book steps into the world.
I’ve been writing since I was thirteen, but this book asked something different of me. It asked for patience. For honesty without polish. For letting moments sit until they were ready to be told instead of forcing them into shape. Some of it came easily. Some of it resisted me for years. All of it mattered.
This book grew slowly and deliberately, the way meaningful things tend to do. It grew out of grief, yes, but also out of love, memory, humor, and the quiet courage it takes to keep living forward when life has changed you forever. It is deeply personal, but it is not only about me. It is about what we carry, what we lose, and what we choose to keep.
I know the title. The cover is in progress with a friend of mine, a talented graphic designer. I know the moment when I finally felt the click of recognition that said, this is it. But I am holding those details close for just a little while longer.
What I can say is this. If you’ve ever found yourself standing in the after of something big and wondering who you are now. If you believe stories can be both tender and strong at the same time. If you like writing that tells the truth without shouting. This book was written with you in mind.
Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing more. Behind the scenes moments. Reflections from the writing life. Small pieces of the journey that led here. And when the time comes, you’ll be the first to see the title and the cover.
If you’d like to be part of that moment, I invite you to join my newsletter here or via the form below. That’s where I’ll be sharing first looks, early announcements, and the quieter thoughts that don’t always make it to social media.
New Year’s Day felt like the right moment to say it out loud.
My book is coming out in 2026!
And I can’t wait to share it with you.
